Sometimes, you might not be giving your studies the required attention; as a result, you are always muddled with the question: ‘How can I use my full potential to get good grades?’ The main options consist of self-studying (aka, being a private candidate), school and tuition centers. Here are the pros and cons of each alternative for you to weigh and find the most fitting one!

Self Study

Self-studying is a method of learning where students have total control of their own studies without any direct supervision. It is a very familiar technique often used by students to study at their own satisfactory pace.

Benefits of Self Study

  1. Self-studying allows students to understand a topic vividly as they use their own mind to learn them rather than the topic being spoon-fed to them.
  2. It is relatively cost-effective, as extra expenses on transportation, school uniforms, school notebooks and other necessary items etc. are saved.
  3. Another perk of self-studying is that it saves time, as tuition centers and schools require work on the student’s part as well as their own homeworks. Studying by yourself without school and tuition proves more efficient.
  4. Self-study enhances the minds of students since it needs self-determination and will power to do it.

Drawbacks of Schools

  1. Students may not be able to manage all the required assignments, homework and projects, whichc an cause stress.
  2. Schools may not be affordable for many students.
  3. Teachers present in schools may not adjust with particular students. Students may find discomfort in some teachers’ teaching style.
  4. A student could be riddled with social problems such as bullying, introspectiveness, and may not be able to settle in a school’s environment.

Schools

Schools are educational institutions that provide learning environments for students with the help of teachers.

Benefits of Schools

  1. In a school, students study with regulation and organization which ensures that syllabuses are completed in time.
  2. Schools deliver a platform to perform extracurricular activities. This aids in personality building, as well as the development of various skills that might be useful later in life. .
  3. Students can take assistance from classmates as well as teachers to overcome any trouble faced while learning.

Tuition Centers

Tuition Centers are another substitute method for studying. These centers have expert individuals tutoring in their field of expertise.

Benefits of Tuition

  1. The information and concepts being taught at tuition centers are accurate.
  2. Tuition centers can facilitate students with practical concepts that are not available online.
  3. The teachers present are organized and will instruct in a certain period of time. Progress is guaranteed in a fixed amount of time.
  4. An expert teacher at a tuition center can assist the students by providing details such as, teacher’s notes, paper patterns and repeated questions. Teacher’s notes give a summary of the whole syllabus.
  5. Tuition centers allow flexible timings that demonstrates them being convenient.

Drawbacks of Tuition

  1. Tuition centers are relatively costly.
  2. Content is spoon-fed to students, and, as a result, students can’t learn without self-studying and revision of the ideas taught at the tuition centers.
  3. The learning pace of different students and the teaching pace of the teacher may be unmatched, which results in lack of interest and tediousness.

To sum up everything stated so far, each option has its own advantages and disadvantages. However, in my opinion, tuition centers are the best choice. This is relatively inexpensive as compared to schools. It takes time, but provides guaranteed results in a scheduled period. Information provided by experts at tuition centers is specified and is not available everywhere. Thus, making it the best option.
