International essay competition for students aged 13–18, offering academically assessed opportunities across Psychology, Economics, Philosophy, Politics, History, Law, Theology and Art History, with substantive feedback provided by academic specialists including University of Cambridge Faculty.
Eligibility: Open to students aged 13–18 on the date of submission, regardless of country of residence.
Cost: A £12 non-refundable registration fee is required for each essay submitted. Late entries are permitted until 15 July 2027 for a £20 late-entry fee.
Benefits: Every submitted essay receives substantive feedback from an academic specialist. Shortlisted students are assessed by an academic panel and asked to provide an academic referee. Winning essays in each discipline are published online, with £100 prizes and a 75% discount on the Sidgwick summer course; the overall Sidgwick Prize winner receives free attendance at the one-week residential course, including tuition, accommodation and meals.
