The International Amy MacRae Award for Memoir 2026

An annual writing contest honoring exceptional memoir and personal essay pieces, established in memory of Amy MacRae to support ovarian cancer research.
Eligibility: Open to writers anywhere in the world. Submissions must be original, unpublished memoirs or personal essays under 2,000 words. Judging is completely blind.
Cost: $25 USD/CAD entry fee per submission (proceeds are donated entirely to Amy’s Living Legacy for ovarian cancer research).
Benefits: CAD$1,000 cash prize for the grand winner, with shortlisted and winning stories compiled and published in the Amy Award Anthologies.
